Let our light shine.

what else are we waiting for?

 Genesis 1:3-5

And God said, let there be light and there was light.

And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

And God Called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night.

And evening and the morning were the first day.

Matthew 5:14-16

Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.

Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Yes, daylight savings time has come for the season,  but today’s word of edification is not inspired by the time change in the countries that observe.

Today’s word is inspired by the observation that many of God’s Children and believers in God and Christ have hidden their light from the world. Or even more devastating, has had their light dimmed or put out by the weight of the worlds fear, lack and suffering.

At a time when God is calling his children, his houses, his nations, to stand and be the light that the world so desperately needs, many of the children, houses and nations of God are without. Either having dimmed their light so low as to not attract attention or having had the world literally snuff it out.

Today’ word of edification is to remind the Children, Houses and Nations of God and those that believe in God; that the God we serve, the God his children know as the Father of heaven and earth, is still the same God that through his very being created light from darkness and divided day from night.

It is this same God in the likeness of Jesus that came back into the world to declare to his children and all those who would believe that you are the light of this world. And as such, cannot be hidden.

For to hide your light is to relinquish your existence in the world and to renounce your thrown to the God’s of darkness made possible through shame, lack, oppression, and suffering.

Without the light of God within each and everyone of us, that know ourselves to be Children of God, believers in God, and/or followers of Christ, there is no world to be seen, known or experienced.

It is our responsibility, our call, as children of God and those adopted through salvation, to shine our light into dark places and spaces. For as God created light from darkness, it is during the darkest of times that we must power up the lanterns of our lives and shine light directly into the eye of the darkness of this world.

Brothers and Sisters, Elders and Nation leaders; God is calling you out of darkness to stand firmly in his marvelous light so that the pressures of condemnation, man’s judgement against man, selfishness and greed may be dragged into the light of day for God to speak his truth into the darkness once again.

God has placed us here not that our light would be dimmed or diminished, but that the dark shadow of confusion, scarcity, unbelief, and suffering be snuffed out from its very roots.

God cannot do this without us, and we still hold our inheritance of life and living on earth. If we are to see the goodness of the lord in the land of the living and experience the manifestation of his greatest good, we must be present for him to project his light through us.

I know that fear is rolling across the land like clouds rolling down from Table Mountain. As Children of God and holders of his light, we must not eat of this poison fruit. We must stand firm in the face of fear and doubt about the future existence of this world and speak light into darkness just as the Father did at first light.

It is indeed our time. Our time to stand as beacons of light in this world. To take our place upon the hilltops and cast our light forward into the darkness. For if we cannot harness the belief and courage to do it for ourselves, shall we look into the eyes of our children and the fear that so many have about their future existence and do it for them.

Mark 9:23-24

Jesus said unto him, if thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord I believe; help thou mine unbelief.

A Reminder and Power-up for those struggling with unbelief that God has indeed called you forth as light in this otherwise dark and desolate world:

1 Peter 2:9-10

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:

Which in time past were not a people but are NOW the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

Let us let our light shine so that God may overflow our lanterns once again!
